David Perdue won the Republican primary runoff over his opponent Kingston.  However, Perdue has a terrible record as a businessman and Georgians should be wary of voting for him.

While Perdue was CEO of a company called Pillowtex for only a few months the company ended up in bankruptcy, leaving its 7,500 workers without a job while he got paid $3.1 million in the process.
Perdue opposes raising the minimum wage.
Perdue opposes extending unemployment benefits for the long term unemployed.
Perdue wants to eliminate the Federal income tax and replace it with a national sales tax.  This would reduce taxes for the rich while increasing taxes on the middle class and poor. (The middle class and poor need to spend most or all of their income on goods and services so they would end up paying a large percentage of their income on sales tax.  The rich can save a lot of their money and spend a smaller percentage on goods and services so they would spend a smaller percentage on taxes.)
Perdue wants to cut Social Security and Medicare benefits.
Why would Georgians want to vote for someone with a record like that?

The Republican dominated House of Representatives are also obstructionists in that they haven’t voted on jobs bills and other bills to help out the average American.  Instead they have wasted time and millions of dollars voting to repeal the ACA over 50 times.

Time to vote for Progressive Democrats who will help the middle class, women and young people.

The Violence Policy Center recently published a study that showed that while vehicle deaths are going down, gun deaths are increasing in this country.  In fact in 14 states gun deaths exceed vehicle deaths!
Those 14 states are:
Alaska
Arizona
Colorado
Illinois
Louisiana
Maryland
Michigan
Nevada
Ohio
Oregon
Utah
Vermont
Virginia
Washington

Note that cars are designed for transportation and are subject to many safety standards and regulations.  Cars must have seat belts, head rests, shatter resistant glass etc.  Also highways have been redesigned to be safer such as having improved lighting, guardrails etc.

Meanwhile guns are designed for only one thing - to kill someone or something. Furthermore, firearms remain the last consumer product manufactured in the United States not subject to federal health and safety regulation.
Americans spend more time in their cars than spend with their guns yet gun deaths are increasing which only shows how dangerous guns are.
More than 90% of Americans own a car but only about a third own a gun.  Yet guns deaths continue to climb!
Something needs to be done to reverse the number of gun deaths.

Republicans are the anti-party who vote no on bills that would help the average American.
97% of scientists believe in climate change but the GOP denies it.
Republicans voted 51 times to repeal Obamacare but have nothing to replace it.
Joe the Plumber told the father of a shooting victim that his dead child doesn’t trump his gun rights!  Republicans have blocked bills that would help reduce gun violence and deaths.
Republicans pass bill after bill reducing women’s access to health care. They are even trying to pass bills that would ban birth control.
